I"m Back Home

Last Thursday, I left town to visit family in Atlanta, feel my niece's baby move (totally wicked cool!) and attend her baby shower (I took only two pictures before my silly phone died! Something is seriously sucking down the battery juice!). And no, I didn't get pictures of the baby's room, the kitty kittys or anyone else at the party!  I also left my hubby, kidlet, visiting Sis-in-law and two of her kids behind. . . . also the daily chores of feeding the dog, doing laundry, pool, house, etc, etc.

Even though I was gone, I wasn't totally abandoning my walking/eating routine. I did eat and drink a bit more than normal, but I also walked 3 out of 4 days--they have these things called hills there. I tried to drink my six glasses of water, eat all my healthy check choices, and I did think about what I was shoving in my mouth as I shoved it in.

I did well on some things, but there were these little lemon bite-sized cakes and already sliced pound cake that were my downfall. I will get my walk in this AM prior to starting all the laundry, and with luck, I might actually get into the pool this afternoon before the rain arrives tonight.

Well, my friends, now it is time to shift gears and take care of the work I left behind. Today will consist of laundry, laundry and more laundry in preparation for the family leaving tomorrow which will consist of MORE laundry (sheets and towels).

  1. Laundry...welcome to my h*ll. I had to wash everything hanging in my laundry room (because of the fire) before I could start on my real laundry from the trip! I'm still working on the laundry from the fire. I THINK I'll make it to the trip clothes today.

My kitchen and dining rooms look like an F-5 tornado went threw them. Stuff everywhere. I need to put away some things today.

And I desperately need to write.

    sigh...being a grown-up can be tough. :)

  3. I realized how truly impressive your weight loss is the other day when I had to carry a 50 pound bag of feed to the feed room. I thought 'OMG, this is what it feels like to be 50 lbs overweight.' I could barely walk. I honestly don't know how people function. No wonder being over weight can be so hard on your body!

  4. It is mind-boggling, isn't it, Jods?

When I lost the first ten pounds I was totally unimpressed--mainly because I had so many more pounds to go--but when I lifted a ten pound bag of flour, I realized the impact of the lost weight.

The body is amazing when you think about it as it continues to work and function with morbidly obese people who have 100+ pounds of excessive weight to lose.
