Rest in Peace, Anne McCaffrey . . .

The world lost a wonderful voice in the world of Science fiction and fantasy writing.

She introduced me to the wonderful world of dragons and Pern. Her voice will be missed.

Rest in peace, Anne McCaffrey, the world is less bright now that your star has extinguished.

  1. This touches me. I was such a fan of hers. I used to wait for her next book to come out. Some of my favorites were the Harper Hall books. I gave away a lot of my old books, but I still have Dragonsong and Dragonsinger.

  2. Dragonsong was the first story of hers that I read, Edie, but her dragons really touched a place in my heart. I never understood how she wrote about how it felt to ride a dragon . . . until I had that special moment riding a horse and it all fell into place.

She will be missed by many.

  3. Oh, my gosh, I missed this news! I'd read her years ago, then downloaded her Dragon series as soon as I got my Kindle. They rekindled my love on fantasy. She was a great storyteller.

  4. For the past few years, she's been co-writing with her son, Todd . . . and you can really tell the difference. He's more Science Fiction and less Fantasy. I love the way she wrote, I totally rode those dragons along with each dragonrider!
