Today, we put down our Old English Sheepdog. The cancer prevented her from eating and drinking. She was starving to death. Her passing was peaceful, though painful for all of us.
Rest in Peace, my furry friend.

Big, big, big hugs! I know she's looking down on your from doggy heaven, telling you that she had a great life and loved all of you.
ReplyDeleteShe was lucky to have you and your family to love her, and to love her enough to help her make a peaceful transition out of the world. But her little (or not so little) spirit lives on, and I bet you'll still 'feel' her all over the house and in your lives.
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs from me and Murray.
Thanks y'all. I couldn't go to the vet with Todd--it would have been too, too difficult. He said her passing was peaceful and pain-free, which is what we would all wish for our pets.
ReplyDeleteWe miss her tremendously--in the little things she did: greeting us at the door, getting the paper/mail, putting her head on my lap when I typed on the computer. The house is empty without her, but we will bury her ashes when we get them and have a special place in our yard.
I've had dogs before, but I can truly say, Katie was a once in a lifetime friend.
What an awesome dog Katie was. Hugs and shared tears with you. Thank you for sharing Katie with us. <3 Meg
ReplyDeleteThanks, Meg. I can feel your hug all the way from Texas. I can smile through my tears when I think of her.
