the sleepover!
Six little ten/eleven-year olds were playing 'spa day' when I went to bed at 10 PM. It was eerily quiet with the low, soothing music playing over the computer. I had a secret hope that they would conk out.
*hahaahaha*
Hubby got tired of telling them to quiet out down about 12:30 and sent this woman in to do the job. The girls claimed they were sleepwalking and sleep talking . . . yeah, right.
They were quiet for all of 10 minutes.
I went back into the room and threatened to separate them. BINGO! That did the trick. Of course I was awake for another 45 minutes, listening for any infraction. Only slept until 4 AM and stared at the clock until I gave up and got out of bed at 5AM.
The girls were quiet until the smell of homemade cinnamon rolls lured them out of bed at 7:30 AM.
All-in-all, I think the sleepover went well.
Homemade cinnamon rolls...yummmmmmmmm

ReplyDeleteI'd love to awaken to homemade cinnamon rolls.
This time I wasn't happy with them, Meg! I tried a different flour, but I also wondered if I didn't have 1) enough yeast, 2) warm enough water & half and half. *sigh* guess I'll have to make them again . . .
ReplyDeleteYou know there is no sleeping involved in a sleepover! Let them stay up all night and suffer the consequences the next day :) (Including the consequences of mommy being crabby from being kept awake by children all night!)
ReplyDeleteI crashed early when the girls played 'spa day' in the play room. They had on ocean sounds, used scented lotion and gave massages to each other. It was so quiet it was scary! The hubby woke me up when the screaming started @ 12:30, they said some of them were 'sleepwalking' and 'sleeptalking'. Yeah, right. When I threatened to seperate them, they went to sleep within 10 minutes! I'm such a mean mom!
